Quari Press is a publishing house built for independent creators — the kind of people who have something real to say and no interest in waiting two years for a traditional imprint to say it for them.
We believe a cookbook developed over years of cooking, a framework built through a decade of consulting, a novel drafted and redrafted in the margins of a busy life — these deserve the same production quality as anything that comes out of a traditional house. A proper structure. A distinctive cover. A sales page that does the work of a publicist. The whole apparatus, compressed into an afternoon session.
The name comes from the quarto — the early modern printing format that made books smaller, cheaper, and available to audiences they could never have reached in folio. The ambition is the same: take the work of creating and selling a book, and put it within reach of anyone who has something worth publishing.
The Production Process
Every volume begins with a brief — a short, structured conversation about your idea, your reader, and what the book needs to accomplish. You tell us the concept; the house shapes it into architecture.
From the brief we derive a title, a chapter outline, a tonal register, and a visual identity. This is the foundation everything else is built on. A book without a clear brief is a manuscript without a spine.
Once the brief is set, the bindery opens. Chapters arrive in sequence — not as summaries, but as full, readable prose, paced and voiced according to the brief you submitted. You watch the manuscript build in real time and edit inline as it arrives.
The prose belongs to you entirely. You can reshape any sentence, excise any chapter, insert your own material wherever it fits. The house provides the frame; the authority comes from you.
The third stage turns the manuscript into a market. A complete sales page is generated specifically for your book — not a template with your title inserted, but purpose-built copy: a headline that names the reader, proof drawn from the material, objections anticipated and answered.
The storefront renders as a live page at your own subdomain. When you're ready, you connect payment and it's open for business. There is no separate tool to learn, no theme to install, no developer to brief.
Transparency
Quari Press runs on a credit system because that is the honest way to account for what the house actually does: each time you open the bindery, we call the large language models that write and edit your manuscript. Those calls have a real cost — priced by the token, billed to us, and passed through to you at as close to cost as the business can sustain.
A complete volume — brief, full manuscript, storefront copy — consumes roughly 40 to 60 credits depending on length. At the Author tier ($19 / month), that means between three and five complete books per billing cycle from your monthly allowance alone. The Reader tier ships with 50 free credits on signup: enough to publish one volume and see exactly what the house produces before committing to a subscription.
There is no markup on creator revenue. When your storefront generates a sale, Stripe takes their processing fee and the remainder goes to you. Quari takes nothing from the transaction. We are paid by the subscription, not by the book. That alignment matters to us: our incentive is to help you publish well, not to take a cut when you do.
Every idea that deserves to exist deserves a proper cover.
The house is open. The bindery is ready. Whatever you have been meaning to write, we can help you finish it today.
